Marquinhos joined Paris Saint-Germain in 2013 from AS Roma for a reported fee of €31.4 million according to Transfermarkt. Since the move, the versatile Brazilian has improved every season and has cemented himself as one of the players that manager Thomas Tuchel can depend on in the biggest matches as well as one of his “five captains.”
Marquinhos, who is a natural center-back but recently was moved into the defensive midfield role where he has thrived, is one of PSG’s most prized assets, which is why they want to extend his contract until 2024.
Paired with Marco Verratti and Idrissa Gueye, Marquinhos is part of one of the most feared midfield partnerships in all of Europe. His ability to lock down the most talented attack-minded player on the opposing team and quickly launch the attack with Verratti and Gueye ahead of him is what has helped PSG reach the top of their UEFA Champions League group and the top of Ligue 1.
Fans absolutely adore Marquinhos’ relentless energy on the pitch and willing to give it all for the club. On the day when PSG unveiled their new third kit this season, fans revealed a tifo of the Brazilian wearing the kit with him watching from the stands.

If that doesn’t make you want to sign an extension and stay in the French capital, I don’t know what will.
