PSG Small Talk Podcast: Neymar Introduced, Win Over Amiens, and Di Maria Dilemma

What a day for Paris Saint-Germain. On Saturday, the club introduced Neymar Jr. to their fans at the Parc des Princes with all the pomp and circumstance you would expect when it comes to a €222 million player and right after that, they defeated newly-promoted Amiens SC 2-0.

The pre-match ceremony was surreal at times. Watching a player like Neymar in a PSG shirt walk around the stadium waiving to fans is something few supporters expected, including me who wrote that he wouldn’t be coming to the club when the rumors originally started. With all the excitement before the match, it would have been terrible if the squad put in a poor performance and didn’t come away with the three points but luckily that didn’t happen.

Marc Damon (@MarcDamon1) watched the ceremony and match and shortly after, he recorded the latest episode of PSG Small Talk to share his thoughts on the festivities, the performance, and why Angel Di Maria is a luxury PSG simply can’t afford to have in the team much longer.

  1. I feel Angel Di Maria can be a great support for Ney, Plus, he can play in central midfield like B2B like his time at Real. Di Maria I feel is a great dribbler, decent shooter and is great in big games. Plus, Di Maria has probably the most experience playing in “big” games, the CL final (where he was the MOM) and the WC final come to mind. I feel PSG can afford to lose maybe Matuidi, Ben Arfa, Jese, Aurier, etc. Di Maria is the only left footed winger on the team, provides a different angle on corners and free kicks.
