Arsenal’s central defensive pairing of William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhães are reportedly on Paris Saint-Germain’s radar. A report revealed that the capital club had a representative scouting both players.
CaughtOffside recently reported, citing sources, that Saliba is on the radar of Real Madrid, PSG, and Bayern Munich.
Moreover, even though it’s unlikely the Gunners would let Saliba leave, with his contract running until 2027, the report states that they’d only entertain offers starting at around €120 million or higher.
In his latest Daily Briefing column for CaughtOffside, Arsenal expert Charlie Watts weighed in on Magalhães’s future as his contract expires in 2027.
“Saliba obviously gets lots of headlines, and that’s understandable, but I do think that Gabriel is criminally underrated at times,” Watts wrote. “I know that Arsenal have started the process of trying to extend his contract and I think that is very important.
“I think the discussions are still at quite an early stage, but he absolutely warrants a new deal. He’s grown into such a leader since he first arrived and is up there with the very best there is in his position, as he proved once again against Spurs.”
The Brazilian has a connection to French football, having played for LOSC Lille, so it would be interesting to see if he decides to return, but this time play for the Parisians. Since joining Arsenal in 2020, the 26-year-old has made 172 appearances for the Gunners while scoring 16 goals and recording one assist.
