Manchester United’s interest in Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Manuel Ugarte could be cooling off. The Red Devils and the capital club have yet to find common ground on a transfer fee, resulting in the transfer not getting done.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano recently shared that PSG are thinking about loaning out Ugarte but wants to include a mandatory purchase clause in the deal. Ideally, the reigning Ligue 1 champions favor either a permanent transfer or a loan with an obligation to buy.
The transfer fee has been the problem between the two clubs, stopping the deal from moving forward. Journalist Duncan Castles reported that Manchester United have offered £42 million for Ugarte, but PSG are holding out for £50 million they originally spent for him.
More information surfaced on Monday as The Athletic’s David Ornstein reports that Manchester United are now exploring other midfield options as discussions with PSG about Manuel Ugarte have stalled, largely because PSG are asking for €60 million.

Meanwhile, PSG remain relaxed since other potential buyers are showing plenty of interest in Ugarte. It will be interesting to see if the Premier League club proceeds with other alternatives or if this is a game of poker to see which side flinches first.
