Real Madrid won the 2024 UEFA Champions League final with a 2-0 win over Borussia Dortmund on Saturday night at Wembley Stadium. While the Spanish side scored two goals, one player believes that if Kylian Mbappé had been on the team, it wouldn’t have been such a close contest.
The La Liga side and Dortmund played to a scoreless first 45 minutes, but the Bundesliga club had scoring chances but couldn’t convert. As a result, Real Madrid dodged a couple of bullets throughout the match.
Los Blancos scored in the 74th minute thanks to a goal from Dani Carvajal, and Vinicius Junior added the second goal in the 83rd minute to ice the match. After the win, Real Madrid midfielder Jude Bellingham noted that if the team had the PSG superstar, they would’ve broken the scoreless contest much earlier.
“Tonight, the only little thing we were missing was that clinical nine,” Bellingham told TNT Sports. “And if [*smiles*] he was to come, and give us that, we’d be in a really great place and he’d take us to another level.”
