‘I’m Not Worried’ – Pundit Confident Ex-PSG Star Will Make Impact in First Season at Real Madrid

Former Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappé officially joined Real Madrid on Monday. The French star is arriving as a free agent and has inked a five-year deal with the Spanish giants.

Real Madrid won the 2024 UEFA Champions League with a 2-0 win over Borussia Dortmund on Saturday night at Wembley Stadium. RMC Sport pundit Éric Di Meco reacted to the official announcement and believes the Frenchman will hit the ground running.

Di Meco believes this is because Mbappé’s ability to score goals in Ligue 1 is difficult to do. As a result, the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner should adapt to La Liga.

“I’d sign him today; he’s going to easily score more than 25 goals in La Liga, and I even bet he’ll score over 30,” Di Meco said on RMC Sport (h/t Sport.fr). “Bellingham scored 19 this season, and Vinicius scored 15. La Liga is a league where teams actually play; there are no ultra-defensive sides. It’s hard to score goals in Ligue 1. When you score 30 goals, adapting becomes easy. The teams in Spain are more attacking and open; they don’t park the bus in front of the goal, they play real football.”

“Messi and Ronaldo used to score 40 goals a season. I’m not saying he’ll match them right away, but he will definitely score a lot of goals. This year, even with an average season at PSG, he almost scored 30 goals in a league where it’s tough to score. I’m not worried about him at all.”

Sky Sports News recently revealed the financial details of the Frenchman’s move to Real Madrid. According to their report, the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner will get a signing bonus of over €100 million and agree to a five-year contract, earning €15 million a year after taxes.
