Napoli star Khvicha Kvaratskhelia has become Paris Saint-Germain’s leading choice to fill the gap left by Kylian Mbappé’s departure. Adding to PSG’s optimism, one of the other clubs interested in Kvaratskhelia has decided to shift its focus elsewhere.
The 23-year-old has played in 44 matches across various competitions this season, scoring 11 goals and providing nine assists. Since arriving in Napoli in 2022, the Georgian player has scored 25 goals and registered 26 assists for the Italian side.
While the player might have some admirers, PSG is making a serious push to sign him this summer, and Barcelona is stepping aside to let the Ligue 1 club secure the superstar.
Gazzetta dello Sport (h/t Diario SPORT) reports that the Georgian player was the ideal profile for Barcelona, who wanted to strengthen the left wing in the attack. In fact, in Italy, they claimed that the coach liked the player a lot in the Round of 16 match against Napoli, even though the Blaugrana were much superior.
Now, with Hansi Flick on the bench, the priorities may have changed regarding going to the market. However, Barça, which is not overflowing with talent in attack, loses an opportunity in favor of PSG.
