Over the last few days, rumors of Xavi Simons returning to FC Barcelona have begun to trickle out. A report from RMC Sport revealed that Simons’ future at PSG remains uncertain. However, the 21-year-old will not be heading to the Spanish side.
Simons has been catching attention at RB Leipzig, making a splash with 42 appearances across all competitions. His tally of nine goals and 15 assists speaks volumes, sparking interest from other top European clubs keen to see if they can tempt him away.
As a result, Barcelona appear keen on the player returning, especially if the player has no desire to stay in the French capital. Nonetheless, SPORT reports that PSG have closed the door to a sale of Xavi Simons to Barça.
It will be very complicated to put pressure on the Parisian leaders to accept an offer. Simons is under contract until 2027, so PSG hold the leverage in this situation as they likely want the player in Paris to be part of the post-Kylian Mbappé era.

Unless Barcelona or any other club want to overspend on Simons, he will likely play for PSG next season, barring anything unforeseen.
