Palmeiras’ rising star Estevao Willian is attracting attention from top European clubs, establishing himself as the latest standout talent from South America.
The latest updates on the teenager shed light on Chelsea’s willingness to outspend Paris Saint-Germain and other top European clubs in pursuing him.
According to a recent report, PSG are among the clubs that have inquired about the 17-year-old, known as Messinho, but no clubs have made a formal offer yet. Nonetheless, there’s new information on this saga.
GOAL reports that Chelsea are prepared to table a record €65 million bid for the next Brazilian star from Palmeiras. If the deal goes ahead, it’ll mark the largest transfer in Brazilian football history, surpassing Palmeiras’ previous sale of Endrick.
The agreement would involve performance-based bonuses, all of which would directly benefit the club. With the domestic season in Brazil just kicking off, Estevao will need to remain at Palmeiras for nearly another year.
It means the winger won’t be eligible to join Chelsea until he reaches 18 in April 2025. With the summer window a few weeks away, it will be interesting to see if any club like PSG make a swoop for the rising star.
