Nottingham Forest Slap Transfer Fee on Star Defender Amidst Liverpool and PSG Pursuit

Paris Saint-Germain will be aiming to bolster their center-back position this summer transfer window. Over the past few months, the Parisians have been linked to various players, including a Nottingham Forest standout.

This past January transfer window, the capital club went to Brazil and landed a gem in Lucas Beraldo. In his few months in the French capital, the 20-year-old has shown promising signs although there’s still a learning process as he adapts to European football.

Nonetheless, PSG might be pursuing another Brazilian defender, considering the club’s strong ties to the country. Football Insider reports that the Ligue 1 side are among the clubs eyeing Nottingham Forest’s Murillo.

Furthermore, the information from Football Insider notes that the Reds want more than £20 million for the standout defender. The French giants aren’t alone in the race for the 21-year-old, as Liverpool, Chelsea, and Manchester United have their eyes on the young center-back.

If Nottingham Forest are relegated from the Premier League, the rumors for Murillo will only intensify as a move would likely be imminent.

  1. £20 million for Murillo? Is that a joke? Forest would be insane to sell him for such a low amount. Most Forest fans rate him at least as high as Brennan Johnson who is a similar age and Forest got £47.5 million for Johnson. Murillo has a long contract at Forest, so unless there’s some buy-out clause in that contract, Forest would be mad to sell for less than £50 million. Even though there’s PSR to consider, the interest in Murillo from big clubs is so great that Forest can auction him to the highest bidder before any deadline. He is genuinely worth that much so there’s no reason for a buying club to not pay that amount. He’ll be worth even more in a couple of years; he’s only 21. Any club paying £50 million would be almost guaranteed to make a profit if they sold him in two years time. If it wasn’t for PSR then Forest wouldn’t even consider selling him before then.
