Paris Saint-Germain will likely have to replace the production left behind when Kylian Mbappé reportedly leaves this summer. Many expect him to join Real Madrid as a free agent, so the capital club must consider what player(s) can pick up the goal-scoring on the team next season.
Over the last few months, the Parisians have been linked to various names to bring in as they begin to build a squad in a post-Mbappé era. One of the names connected to the French giants is Napoli standout Victor Osimhen.
The Ligue 1 side does face competition, as a recent report revealed that Chelsea’s talks to sign Osimhen “are proceeding,” albeit at a slow pace. However, this slow process between the Blues and Napoli might be leaving the window open for PSG to come in for a swoop.
Il Mattino reports that Napoli awaits PSG’s offer for Osimhen, who could trigger the release clause this summer. The Italian media outlet adds that the Nigerian goal-scorer is on the brink of joining PSG.

It will be interesting to see if this information is from Napoli to fast-forward talks with Chelsea, or perhaps PSG does see Osimhen in a serious light. Sporting advisor Luis Campos had the player at LOSC Lille, so there’s a connection to the player. Will that be enough to make a move?
