This season, Kylian Mbappé has experienced what it’s like being the No. 1 star on a team. The 25-year-old has played alongside Neymar Jr. and Lionel Messi for the past few years. However, the forward is showing he can be the top player on a team.
Paris Saint-Germain are in the UEFA Champions League quarterfinals and the Frenchman is at the forefront. Mbappé will reportedly leave PSG at the end of this season, with his next destination being Real Madrid.
Nonetheless, one pundit believes that the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner’s performance in this campaign is a blueprint for how the Spanish team can get the most out of him.
During a segment on El Chiringuito, pundit Diego Plaza Casals noted that when Mbappé is the focal point of an attack, a team can get the most out of him. Additionally, he states that when he’s among players at his level, like Messi and Neymar, the PSG star doesn’t dominate matches.

It will be interesting to see if Real Madrid will adapt this philosophy and not look to land other top players like Erling Haaland in the future.
