Paris Saint-Germain drew FC Barcelona in the UEFA Champions League quarterfinals. Both teams likely view this draw with good eyes, allowing them to advance to the semifinals.
The first leg is a couple of weeks away, but with Fabian Ruiz joining the Spanish national team during this FIFA break, the 27-year-old was asked about the looming matchup. The midfielder kept his response short and to the point.
“They’ve had quite a few matches with good results, it’s going to be a very difficult match,” Ruiz said (h/t Paris Fans).
Furthermore, Ruiz spoke about how the team is feeling heading into this matchup. The former Napoli standout has garnered a more important role in Luis Enrique’s system this season.
“We have a great team, and we are in a good dynamic,” Ruiz added. “I’m happy to have minutes. We are alive in all competitions; we hope to have a good year.”
PSG don’t have a challenging path to the Champions League final as the winner of this tie with Barcelona gets to player whoever comes out victorious in the Borussia Dortmind-Atlético de Madrid matchup.
Additionally, the Parisians have a shot at winning a treble as they sit atop Ligue 1 and are in the Coupe de France semifinals.
