Barcelona sporting director Deco strives to replicate the magic of Luis Enrique’s successful era with the Spanish club. Enrique won the UEFA Champions League title in 2015, leading the team during his tenure from 2014 to 2017.
However, it appears that the 53-year-old won’t try to push his way out of Paris Saint-Germain for a return to the Catalan side. If the Parisians want to build a project, they have a manager who’s committed to them.
According to L’Equipe, Deco and certain other Barça directors appreciate the idea of Enrique replacing Xavi Hernandez at the end of the season at Barcelona. However, the Spanish tactician has already announced his desire to stay and build the long-term project at PSG.

A recent report from Spanish outlet Diario AS reports that club president Joan Laporta shares this sentiment with Deco. Nonetheless, one issue remains for this to happen.
The outlet notes that the manager has a contract with PSG until 2025, and the club can’t afford to pay his release clause. If Enrique is committed to the French giants, then Barcelona might have to cross him off their list.
