PSG Heads Into Barcelona Clash With ‘Good Sensations,’ Midfielder Says

FC Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain will clash on April 10 and 16 in their UEFA Champions League quarterfinal tie. Ahead of the matchup, midfielder Fabian Ruiz spoke about how the capital club is heading into the two legs.

Both teams likely see this draw as a favorable one since the winner will get either Atletico Madrid or Borussia Dortmund while avoiding the likes of Real Madrid and Manchester City. From the Parisians’ perspective, Ruiz believes that the team enters feeling good about themselves.

“Since the draw announcement, the general opinion is that PSG is the favorite, and even the coach of the opposing team, Xavi Hernandez, has said so, ” Ruiz said (h/t Paris Fans). “No, we consider ourselves as favorites. We see ourselves as one of the top eight teams in Europe.

“We’re here and we come with good sensations, with a very positive dynamic, just like Barcelona, who are doing very well. These will be very tight and competitive matches that will be decided by small details. We must stay focused so that those details fall in our favor and we can progress, which would be a very nice thing to achieve.”

Barcelona defender João Cancelo recently commented on the matchup, with the first leg a few days away. The former Manchester City player believes that the matchup is challenging for the Catalan squad.

In an interview with A Bola, the right-back noted that the team will do everything possible to advance. It will be interesting to see if the Catalan side shares the same mentality as the defender, with the little details playing a major factor in who advances.
