The 2023-24 season is the first for Paris Saint-Germain without Lionel Messi and Neymar Jr. According to a club entourage member, the exits of the two South American stars have positively impacted the dressing room.
Last summer, the capital club underwent significant changes, parting ways with prominent figures such as Messi, Neymar, Sergio Ramos, Marco Verratti, and other experienced players.
Le Parisian interviewed a source familiar with the team’s inner workings to uncover the alterations that have taken place.
“We can feel real cohesion and real energy,” the source said (h/t Le10Sport). “It’s a young team with a lot less ego than in the past. This contributes to having a united and calm PSG.”
Furthermore, manager Luis Enrique’s presence also contributed to the change in the locker room dynamics. The source told the French media outlet spoke to notes that the Spanish tactician’s experience has proved crucial.
The source added, “He approaches this type of event with absolute serenity because he has the necessary experience and the habit of being confronted with these situations for more than ten years.”
Recently, ESPN FC’s Twitter account took a shot at the Argentine’s arrival at PSG. The team reached the final in 2020 and made it to the semifinals in 2021. However, when the 2022 FIFA World Cup winner arrived, the team struggled in the knockout stage.
