Mbappé has Barcelona Defender on Edge for Champions League Quarterfinals

After learning about the quarter-final match of the UEFA Champions League against Paris Saint-Germain, Barcelona defender Ronald Araujo spoke to TV3 and did not hesitate to point out Kylian Mbappé as the French team’s main threat in the tie.

Araujo will need to contain the 25-year-old if the Catalan side wants to advance. While not wanting to give everything away, the Uruguayan noted what makes the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner dangerous.

“He is a great rival, a great player,” Araujo told the Spanish media outlet (h/t Mundo Deportivo). “For me, nowadays, he is the most unsettling in one-on-one situations and a very important player for them.”

The 25-year-old admits that it will all depend on where PSG intends to line up Mbappé in the attack, but he also states that Ousmane Dembélé is another player he has to prepare to defend.

“I still don’t know what position I will play, but we know the quality of player he is,” Araujo added. “They even have Ousmane, who we had here, who is also very good in one-on-one situations, and we will try to counter that skill of theirs with our own football.”

Barcelona’s Brazilian duo Raphinha and Vitor Roque also commented on the Champions League matchup in their native Brazil. Both players are keen on playing PSG and know that eliminating the Parisians will be challenging if they want to advance to the semifinals.
