Manchester United, PSG Get Boost as Real Madrid in ‘Complicated’ Position for Wonderkid

Paris Saint-Germain are battling Manchester United and Real Madrid for LOSC Lille defender Leny Yoro. However, the Spanish side might have to bow out of the sweepstakes unless the French defender is willing to help facilitate a move to Spain.

Manchester United are desperate to try and beat the top clubs in Europe for his signature and feel Yoro has the ideal credentials to become a big success at Old Trafford. As for PSG, the teenager is a young French talent that fits the profile they want their squad to be.

Relevo journalist Jorge Picón provided an update on where the Spanish giants stand in the race for Yoro, which isn’t a good place. While the defender is a player they like, their focus is on Kylian Mbappé and Alphonso Davies.

“We have confirmed Real Madrid’s interest in Leny Yoro, the central defender they like the most,” Picón noted (h/t Le10Sport). “However, this is a complicated signing for several reasons, primarily financial.

“The club had not planned to recruit a central defender this summer, but rather in 2025 or even 2026. In this case, the club will be involved in two signings – Mbappé and Davies – which are financially demanding.

“In this sense, I believe Leny Yoro is being put on the back burner. While he is a player that Real Madrid admires greatly and is willing to wait for, there are also other central defenders on the market whom they like and can afford to wait a year or two to sign.”

A report last month revealed that Les Dogues aren’t willing to let the player leave for a fee of less than €60 million. As a result, interested clubs must come with heavy offers if they wish to land one of the top young defenders.
