Kylian Mbappé’s future could be in the Spanish capital, as reports suggest the Frenchman will join Real Madrid. However, conflicting reports note that the 25-year-old hasn’t decided yet.
Nonetheless, RMC Sport’s Madrid-based correspondent, Frédéric Hermel, provided the latest information from the Spanish club’s perspective. The announcement is not official, and even PSG wouldn’t know it.
But this time, the outcome doesn’t favor the Parisian club. Within the Real Madrid club, nobody seems to have been informed either. Nevertheless, Hermel suggests a glimmer of optimism from the La Liga side.
“They are rather quiet in Madrid,” Hermel said on After Foot RMC (h/t Le10Sport). “I have been told for several days that things look pretty good. We definitely don’t want to get excited. Real will definitely not come out of the woods; that’s obvious. Real is waiting for Mbappé to officially announce his decision and speak with PSG. Then, they will discuss whether Mbappé wants to come to Real.
“There is a lot of tranquility on the Real Madrid side. We especially don’t want to be too enterprising straight away and have Mbappé change his mind at the last minute and be ridiculed once again. But they are still rather confident about the future of Kylian Mbappé at Real.”
Romano highlighted that Mbappé will communicate his decision directly to PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi before making it public. Additionally, he clarified that the claim stating that Mbappé must announce his decision by February 14 is inaccurate.
Still, some reports, such as The Telegraph’s Jason Burt, note that Mbappé is expected to announce his decision on his future within the next week.
It will be interesting to see if the report revealing that the PSG star is about to announce his decision next week is accurate.
