Paris Saint-Germain was in the mix for a center-back this January transfer window. One target the Parisians had their eyes on was Bayern Munich’s Matthijs de Ligt.
The capital club wanted to jump on the Dutchman, reportedly not happy dropping down the pecking. Nonetheless, if PSG wants the player, they’ll face stiff competition for the 24-year-old.
According to The Mirror, Manchester United monitors de Ligt’s situation due to their previously reported interest in the defender working under Red Devils boss Erik ten Hag at Ajax Amsterdam.
Despite this, de Ligt still has over three years left on his deal. As a result, Manchester United needs to dig deep into their pockets to secure a deal. Transfermarkt puts the Bayern Munich defender’s transfer value at €65 million.
In a recent report from Le10Sport, the outlet revealed that the 24-year-old himself did not want to leave during the middle of the 2023-24 campaign. Furthermore, if de Ligt does exit, he wishes for a move that’s more towards a summer transfer and not during the season.
