On Thursday, Paris Saint-Germain sealed a loan agreement with Eintracht Frankfurt just before the January transfer window closed, enabling Hugo Ekitike to continue his career with the German side.
The Frenchman aims to revive his career in the Bundesliga following a season where he has yet to appear. Success with Frankfurt could lead to a permanent position or catch the eye of other clubs interested in his abilities for the upcoming summer transfer window.
After completing his move, Ekitike shared his initial thoughts on his move to Frankfurt, filled with excitement and optimism.
“Very stressful!” Ekitike told Frankfurt TV (h/t Canal Supporters). “I was eagerly awaiting the agreement to be concluded. I am very excited, happy, and proud to be here, and I look forward to getting started.
“It’s true, I only wanted Frankfurt! And I was waiting to come, and that’s why it was stressful for me. I think it’s the right place and the right direction for me at this point in my career.”

Ekitike will now need to translate what he’s saying to the pitch. Nonetheless, some of his former PSG teammates are rooting for him to succeed in this new venture with Frankfurt.
After Ekitike posted on his Instagram revealing himself in a Frankfurt kit, Kylian Mbappé, Ousmane Dembélé, Presnel Kimpembe, and Ethan Mbappé all wrote messages of support.
