Fabrizio Romano’s Crucial Update on Kylian Mbappe Amid Real Madrid Rumors

Could the Kylian Mbappe transfer saga be over? Recent reports suggest yes. However, transfer window specialist Fabrizio Romano is providing different information.

Speaking exclusively to CaughtOffside in his latest Daily Briefing column, Romano clarified that the claim stating Mbappe must announce his decision by February 14 is inaccurate, and he is uncertain about the origin of that particular story.

Romano highlighted that Mbappe will communicate his decision directly to PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi before making it public. This information serves as a reminder to exercise caution amid the recent surge in reports regarding the French international over the past 24 hours.

“Kylian Mbappe is one situation to follow – both Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid are expecting Mbappe to announce his decision soon, we’re still waiting for that communication – first he will communicate his decision to PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi, but for sure Real Madrid keep working very strong and very hard on this deal – they are on it,” Romano said.

“Still, let me clarify that despite what’s been reported by some, I never said Mbappe would announce his future on February 14; I don’t know where this is coming from. In any case, there are constant contacts from Madrid to make it happen. The discussion is about the salary, potential contract, and more, and it’s constant communication. PSG will wait and hope until the end, as nothing has been communicated to them yet.”

On Saturday, ESPN’s Julien Laurens reported that the transfer saga has ended. He revealed that the 25-year-old has decided to leave PSG and join Real Madrid in the upcoming summer.

The French player has decided to join Real Madrid and will announce his decision next week. Nonetheless, with Romano’s information, it will be interesting to see if Laurens’ information holds up.
