Barcelona’s Xavi Breaks Silence on Gavi Transfer Rumors Amid PSG Links

Paris Saint-Germain has been linked to various players over the last few days, as the capital club will be looking to spend to account for the reported departure of Kylian Mbappé.

One of the players that the Parisians could be circling is FC Barcelona’s Gavi. A recent report revealed that the French giants could be looking to reunite the midfielder with manager Luis Enrique, who coached him with the Spanish national team.

With the rumors ongoing, Barcelona manager Xavi Hernandez addressed the topic when speaking to reporters at his press conference.

”He must stay and be one of the future captains of the team,” Xavi said (h/t Paris Fans). “For me, he must be part of the Barça of the future. He must be the future of Barça.”

MARCA also reports that Barcelona has not received any official or unofficial contact or communication from PSG for Gavi. The Catalan side insists that Gavi is untouchable and isn’t for sale.

It’ll be intriguing to see whether PSG and Enrique stick to pursuing the player and capitalize on Barcelona’s financial situation or if they’ll have to remove Gavi from their list.
