FIFA Best Awards: Did Messi Receive First Place Votes from Ex-PSG Teammates?

FIFA announced the Best FIFA Football Awards winners, with eligible players casting their votes for who they believed was the best player in 2023. 

The winner of the award was former Paris Saint-Germain star Lionel Messi. With ballots being revealed, did any of his ex-teammates in the French capital vote give him a first-place vote?

Kylian Mbappé’s vote for FIFA The Best Player was indeed Messi as his first-place selection. Afterward, the Frenchman went with Manchester City duo Erling Haaland and Kevin De Bruyne.

PSG goalkeepers Gianluigi Donnarumma and Keylor Navas ranked Messi in their top three for the award. The Italian international specifically placed Messi in the first position for the honor, followed by Mbappé in second place and Erling Haaland in third place.

As for Navas, he went with Mbappé in first place. The Costa Rican international then selected Messi for second place and Kevin De Bruyne in third place.
