Paris Saint-Germain could be vying for a center-back once the January transfer window opens. Nonetheless, the question is, what player will the French giants be targeting to improve their back line?
According to Tuttosport via FcInterNews, Inter Milan, Juventus, and Paris Saint-Germain are in the race to sign soon-to-be free agent Tiago Djalo. The 23-year-old’s contract expires in June 2024, and there’s plenty of competition for him.
However, the Italian media outlet reports that Inter Milan remains ahead of the competition in signing Djalo. The Serie A club’s sporting director, Piero Ausilio, has been tracking the player’s development for the last 18 months or so.
The 23-year-old climbed up the ranks at Sporting Lisbon before a brief stint with AC Milan, featuring for the Primavera squad. Nonetheless, the Rossoneri then sold him to Lille OSC in 2019.
Djalo has established himself as one of Ligue 1’s most promising young center-backs while honing his skills at the French Club. With PSG securing top Portuguese talent to pair alongside the French core, it comes as no surprise the capital club eyes the young defender.
It’s hard to envision Lille selling one of their best defenders while fighting for a UEFA Champions League spot next season. Nonetheless, he can sign a pre-contract once the calendar turns to 2024.
