Paris Saint-Germain striker Hugo Ekitike could be on the move in the coming weeks, with the January transfer window about to open. Although the 21-year-old has rarely seen the pitch this 2023-24 season, there’s a market for the Frenchman.
Who could be interested in a player who hasn’t played much this season? A club going through an injury crisis could roll the dice and take a gamble on Ekitike.
Football Insider reports, citing sources, that Newcastle United could be in the mix for the PSG striker. Last week’s defeat against Bournemouth saw the Magpies start Anthony Gordon up front, as they were without their striker duo, Alexander Isak and Callum Wilson.
Ekitike was close to joining the Premier League in the final days of the summer transfer window. The youngster caught the interest of West Ham United and Crystal Palace. However, they could not reach a deal before the transfer deadline.
It will be interesting to see what clubs attempt to land Ekitike, as being at PSG only halts his growth.
