Kylian Mbappé was playing at San Siro in Paris Saint-Germain’s 2-1 loss to AC Milan on Tuesday. However, could the 24-year-old be playing there in the future? Well, if Inter Milan have their way, then yes.
Finnish billionaire Thomas Zilliacus is in the mix to possibly purchase Inter Milan outright from current owner Suning. Much like any billionaire looking to buy a prominent club, they’re making boastful remarks about what will happen once the transaction occurs.
Zilliacus states that if he were to take over the Serie A giants, the supporters could be thinking about landing top football talents such as Mbappé.
“We will increase its revenue by creating services for fans around the world,” Zilliacus said on the TV Play platform (h/t Le10Sport). “We will be much stronger in the transfer market. The consequence will be to make it possible to purchase top players and thus improve an already very strong team.
“For example, getting Kylian Mbappé will no longer be a dream for Inter. Every season, we will aim for the Scudetto and the Champions League.”
It’s doubtful that Zilliacus will take over in time to make a pitch to the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner. Still, it’s not hard to see where he’s coming from regarding what players Inter Milan would be pursuing under his watch.
However, reports suggest that despite the bold statements, he could become a minority shareholder at Inter Milan even if he doesn’t buy the club outright. So, it will be interesting to see how this entire saga for Inter Milan plays out and whether they’ll have an owner in the future with deep pockets.
