The Real Madrid-Kylian Mbappé saga is starting again, but a couple of wild cards are now influencing the soap opera.
At Real Madrid, the emergence of Jude Bellingham has affected that desire to add the Frenchman. According to the Spanish media outlet AS, the La Liga side doesn’t see adding the 24-year-old as a “lifesaver.”
Los Blancos has not let go of Mbappé, far from it, but his incorporation is deemed a make-or-break situation. Furthermore, the media outlet claims the Spanish club has regained a specific power over the case.
“Madrid offers glory, guarantees a seriousness that produces results, they say from the club,” AS’ Carlos Forjanes wrote. “In other words, Mbappé must choose between continuing in a project that continues to show signs of instability or joining another.
“Madrid is always a contender for the Champions League, with several of the most thriving young stars on the planet in harmony. Who needs the other more? Does Madrid need Mbappé or vice versa?
Additionally, AS notes that the rise of Manchester City’s Erling Haaland is also catching the attention of Real Madrid. The Norway international is a No. 9, which they need as the Paris Saint-Germain star is keen on playing the wing position, not the striker role.
Still, Real Madrid’s power of seduction will have to be greater than with Mbappé because Haaland will not be a free agent. So, for now, it seems the France national team captain remains the top transfer target.
