Real Madrid’s Joselu Reveals Dressing Room Thoughts About Mbappé Saga

The interest of Real Madrid in Kylian Mbappé remains a topic of discussion as the 24-year-old will become a free agent next summer. Mbappé opted not to trigger the option to extend his contract until 2025.

As a result, the Frenchman will need to sign a new contract to stay with PSG, or Los Blancos will finally get the winger they have long desired to have. Real Madrid striker Joselu shared how the dressing room was this past summer with the Mbappé rumors.

“Mbappé deal? There were moments when it seemed like he was very close, then there were days when it seemed like he wasn’t going to come,” Joselu told Relevo. “In a locker room, you always talk about everything. There were moments when it seemed like he was going to come.”

If the reporting is accurate, it seems the La Liga side doesn’t want this saga to prolong beyond the January window. The 2018 FIFA World Cup winner can sign a pre-contract for the 2024-25 season, so it’s likely what Real Madrid has in mind.

Nonetheless, it’s Mbappé who has the power, and if he wants to postpone his decision until the season is over, then Real Madrid will need to wait unless they drop out of the race.
