Maignan’s Heartfelt Words on AC Milan-PSG Champions League Clash

AC Milan goalkeeper Mike Maignan came up through Paris Saint-Germain’s youth system. While the 28-year-old has played against his boyhood club at the Parc des Princes, the contest on Oct. 25th will be different.

Maignan and Co. will face the French giants on Matchday 3 of the UEFA Champions League in Paris.

As a result, the context of this encounter might hold more sentiment than when he faced PSG during his time at Lille OSC. The AC Milan star recently spoke about his emotions, knowing the match is on the horizon.

“It’s always special to come back to the Parc des Princes,” Maignan said (h/t Paris Fans). “I spoke to Presnel on the phone: it’s a shame that he can’t participate in this PSG – Milan, because I know he dreams of scoring me a goal, but he still hasn’t done it.”

The emotions will need to go out the window quickly. AC Milan and PSG need to produce favorable results in these two contests. The capital club is ahead of the Serie A giants in Group F by one point.

So, these two matches will play a prominent role in who can control their destiny in the final two matchdays to qualify for the knockout stage.
