Lionel Messi’s Intriguing Answer About Presenting Ballon d’Or at Parc des Princes

Lionel Messi didn’t leave on the best of terms with Paris Saint-Germain supporters. After all, fans protested for his departure, which happened this past summer as the Argentine left as a free agent to Inter Miami.

On Monday, Messi was back in the French capital for the 2023 Ballon d’Or ceremony. The 36-year-old would win the award, marking the eighth time he’s lifted the Ballon d’Or.

After winning the honor, the 2022 FIFA World Cup winner was asked about presenting the award at the Parc des Princes. PSG will play at home to Montpellier on Friday, so L’Equipe wanted to know if that’s something he’d like to do. Well, don’t expect that to happen.

“I don’t think the people of Paris want me to present the Ballon d’Or at the Parc des Princes,” Messi told the French media outlet.

Does time heal all wounds? Yes. Can it do so in a couple of months? Maybe. However, it would be hard to imagine Messi staying in Paris for the rest of the week to present the Ballon d’Or at the Parc des Princes.
