How Real Madrid Could Benefit from PSG’s Recent Form in Mbappé Chase

The future of Kylian Mbappé remains uncertain as his contract with Paris Saint-Germain expires in June 2024. Rumors linking the 24-year-old to Real Madrid continue to swirl and will only get louder as the January window approaches.

According to a report, the Spanish club might take a firm stance with the Frenchman as they likely want to avoid going through months wondering if the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner will sign.

Nonetheless, Fichajes writes that PSG’s recent form, including a 4-1 loss in the UEFA Champions League to Newcastle United, could benefit Los Blancos. The Ligue 1 side is in the middle of a rebuild. As a result, Mbappé might not have the patience to be part of that.

“The merengue team would be the desired destination for the forward to arrive for free in a few months, and this type of disappointment only [lopsided loss to Newcastle] increases the rumors and, perhaps, prepares the ground for the most anticipated transfer in history,” the Spanish outlet wrote.

Mbappé is at the center of PSG’s project after the exits of Lionel Messi and Neymar Jr. However, will that be enough to stay long-term with his hometown club and bring that Champions League trophy? These next few months will be interesting as this saga is ready to pick up again.
