Hugo Ekitiké is an afterthought at Paris Saint-Germain this 2023-24 season. The 21-year-old will reportedly depart the French capital after PSG couldn’t find a club to work out a deal this past summer transfer window.
Ekitiké has a market despite the lack of playing time as Crystal Palace, Everton, and West Ham United are Premier League clubs vying for the player. Furthermore, there’s AC Milan in Italy that’s had a past connection to the player.
At PSG, Ekitiké won’t see much playing time, with Randal Kolo Muani and Gonçalo Ramos occupying the No. 9 role. Nonetheless, wherever the Frenchman goes, the general director of Stade de Reims, Mathieu Lacour, believes that PSG allowing the striker to leave will get his career back on track.
“We have never had as many scouts as when there was Hugo Ekitike,” Lacour said (h/t Le10Sport). “We have never had so many clubs. The clubs we had meetings with were amazing. For me, Hugo has the qualities to bounce back and have a great career. I am deeply convinced of it.”
The young striker has much potential that another could tap into, as it didn’t work out at PSG. It will be interesting to see if any of these clubs decide to put in a bid once the January window opens.
