Could Paris Saint-Germain have dealt a blow to Real Madrid’s chances of landing Kylian Mbappé as a free agent next summer? The capital club is taking gradual steps to ensure the 24-year-old is happy and at the center of this new project.
This past summer, the Ligue 1 giants brought French players familiar with the winger. Lucas Hernandez, Ousmane Dembélé, and Randal Kolo Muani have played with the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner on the French national team.
Now, PSG is taking another step as Le Parisien reports (h/t Paris Fans) that sporting advisor Luis Campos is still part of the picture. The successful start of PSG’s season tends to consolidate his position internally.
Furthermore, the French media outlet states that Campos’ future is no longer a subject of discussion. Comforted by the PSG president and in higher places within the club, the Portuguese executive is no longer threatened in the short term – his contract expires in June 2025 – and has launched with relish and pride into his second season with Paris.
If Campos is part of the long-term plans with the French giants, then it begs the question, can he convince Kylian Mbappé to stay? His arrival coincided with the 24-year-old signing a new contract last year.
The winger trusts the club chief, so Campos’ security could be positive in contract extension talks with Frenchman.
