Matchday 1 of the UEFA Champions League has come and gone. Paris Saint-Germain is one of the clubs to secure a win and all three points. The French giants defeated Borussia Dortmund 2-0 on Tuesday at the Parc des Princes.
The Ligue 1 side sits atop Group F with three points. One of the stars in the victory over Dortmund was Kylian Mbappé. The 24-year-old scored on a penalty kick to open the scoring for PSG.
Furthermore, the Frenchman was the top player on Matchday 1 with the most dribbles. Mbappé completed nine dribbles in the win over Dortmund.
Meanwhile, behind the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner are Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford (8) and PSG loanee Xavi Simons (8), who are part of a four-way tie for that second spot.
Rashford would likely trade some of his dribbles for a win. The Red Devils fell 4-3 to Bayern Munich on Wednesday at Allianz Arena. As for Simons, RB Leipzig got off on the right foot with a 3-1 win over Young Boys on Tuesday at Wankdorf Stadium.
These types of numbers are expected from Mbappé. Nonetheless, it’s good to see that Simons can carry his Bundesliga form to the Champions League, which will excite many PSG supporters when he returns from his loan stint.
