Real Madrid needs to find a long-term goal-scoring replacement for Karim Benzema replacement. The Frenchman left this past summer transfer, and after the 3-1 loss to Atletico de Madrid, there’s been plenty of chatter over the urgency to secure Kylian Mbappé.
Los Blancos eye the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner but likely don’t want to put all their eggs in that basket. The Spanish club could see Erling Haaland as another possibility; still, it will be a costly chase.
Okdiario reports (h/t Defensa Central) that Haaland’s signing seems more than “galactic.” The price has skyrocketed, and he is already asking for the same premium that Mbappé wants to sign for Real Madrid.
The big difference lies in what would have to be paid to Manchester City. There is talk of an exit clause of €170 and €200 million, while for Mbappé to PSG, otherwise, not a single euro would have to be deposited into the coffers of the French club.
According to the report, Haaland would demand a transfer bonus of around 120 million euros. This stratospheric sum would raise the total cost of a potential transfer to €320 million, an unprecedented figure in the football world.
In addition to this monumental sum, Haaland’s salary should be considered, which would not be insignificant and could reach 70 million euros annually.
