As the summer transfer deadline nears, the question is whether Kylian Mbappé will move to Real Madrid. After opting not to trigger the option to extend his contract until 2025, many assumed the 24-year-old would be on his way out.
However, that might not be the case, and one reason is financial. ESPN’s Julien Laurens reports that if Mbappé signs for Real Madrid this summer, he will have to give up a lot of money.
Should the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner leave for Los Blancos, he’d forgo an agreed bonus of €130 million in 2024. As a result, the Frenchman will have to decide what he wants

Laurens also recently gave an honest take on the current saga involving Mbappé and Real Madrid. The journalist notes that there are two ways he sees this saga playing out, at least this summer.
“It is either Real Madrid make a huge offer to PSG for Mbappé, or it will be impossible for him to leave this summer,” Laurens said.
Will the PSG star be playing in Spain this summer? It’s hard to see it, and this saga looks like it will spill into the season.
