Real Madrid will likely not make a last-minute bid for Paris Saint-Germain’s Kylian Mbappé. Nonetheless, it doesn’t stop the Spanish press from discussing the topic and leaving a possibility for a move before the summer transfer window closes on Sept. 1.
Even though Los Blancos have lost Vinicius Junior to a thigh injury, they’re still standing firm and rolling with what they have. Still, MARCA’s Carlos Carpio states that a possibility remains open.
“Mbappé? Madrid’s bet this summer was him,” Carpio said. “I wouldn’t consider the issue closed yet. Anything can happen. We’ve seen so many script changes …”

Real Madrid has a Mbappé obsession that they will not pivot to a Plan B. The Spanish club wants the Frenchman and reportedly ignored the claims of their manager Carlo Ancelotti to go after a striker.
The Spanish giants went for an economical striker in Joselu, who isn’t on the level of Kane. While Real Madrid didn’t count on the 33-year-old to replace Benzema, they likely thought it would be a group effort.
However, it seems Real Madrid will wait to see if Mbappé hits free agency. Will it work out? Only time will tell.
