Transfer Fee Revealed: How Much PSG Is Willing to Pay for Manchester United Target

Manchester United’s pursuit of Atalanta striker Rasmus Højlund has hit a speed bump. Over the last few days, Paris Saint-Germain has done its best to swoop in and hijack the transfer.

The Red Devils are likely hoping that the Danish talent’s desire to play out at Old Trafford overcomes any interest from PSG. With their eyes on bolstering their attacking options, Manchester United has identified Højlund as a prime target.

Nonetheless, that isn’t stopping the capital club from putting in an offer for the 20-year-old. CBS Sports’ Ben Jacobs reported on Tuesday that the English Premier League club remains optimistic about securing Højlund.

PSG’s initial offer stands at €50 million, lower than Manchester United’s current bid, giving the English club a slight edge in negotiations. Jacobs adds that Atalanta is seeking a transfer fee in the range of €60-65 million for their talented youngster.

It is reported that Manchester United has already made a verbal bid of €50 plus 10 million to Atalanta. However, that falls slightly short of the Italian club’s valuation.

The player’s preference is also clear, as Højlund reportedly favors a move to Old Trafford. So PSG will have to do a lot of work if they want to convince him to head to Paris.

  1. Maybe PSG’s bid will make the sellers reconsider their price. True, it’s a very inflated market, but it’s also true this is a kid who hasn’t scored many goals. Not an established EPL scorer.
