Kylian Mbappé Transfer: PSG Stay for a Year, Real Madrid on Hold, per Report

Real Madrid isn’t willing to pay the asking price that Paris Saint-Germain wants to let go of Kylian Mbappé. The Spanish club likely knows the 24-year-old wants to join them and will not overbid.

COPE’s Arancha Rodríguez confirmed recent reports and added more details. PSG has set an astronomical asking price of €250 million for their prized forward, which Real Madrid isn’t willing to meet.

Furthermore, the journalist notes that Mbappé is keen on staying with the French giants for the final year of his contract. As a result, there’s another layer of whether a transfer can get done this summer.

While Real Madrid’s interest in the player remains strong, his preference to continue at the Parisian club in the short term suggests that the decision is now between him and PSG.

The transfer window will close in a few weeks, so the clock is ticking for PSG and Mbappé to decide how this saga ends. PSG cannot allow the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner to stay and leave as a free agent next year.

It will be interesting to see whether both sides agree that a departure is needed or if the situation worsens.
