Although FC Barcelona didn’t reunite with Lionel Messi this summer, as the Argentine intends to join Inter Miami, the Spanish club is still attempting to offload players to register contract extensions and new signings.
One player that the Catalan side is looking to offload is Ansu Fati. Additionally, Mundo Deportivo reported on Sunday that PSG recently became interested in the 20-year-old. However, the French giants aren’t alone in considering landing the player.
The Parisians are thus one of the clubs interested in the Spaniard, alongside Tottenham Hotspur, Bayern Munich, Manchester United and Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Nonetheless, Fati has reportedly refused to join Wolves since he does not want to join a club that finished low in the Premier League standings. Furthermore, he does not want to leave Catalonia.
In this case, Fati’s agent, Jorge Mendes, could play a significant role in finding his client a place where he can play in the 2023-24 season. The Spanish media outlet notes that Mendes could lean on his relationship with PSG sporting advisor Luis Campos to put Fati in Paris.
The Spanish player could be worth the gamble by Campos as it can be a low-risk, high-reward scenario. It seems Barcelona is willing to offload the player to anyone as they need the money, and PSG needs reinforcement depth at the forward position.
