PSG’s Al-Khelaifi in Talks with Mbappé’s Mom to Resolve Future Amid Real Madrid Links – Report

Paris Saint-Germain president Nasser Al-Khelaifi appears he doesn’t want the Kylian Mbappé saga to linger any further. Le Parisien reported on Monday Al-Khelaifi explained PSG’s position to Fayza Lamari, Mbappé’s mother.

After the 24-year-old opted not to trigger his option to extend his contract until 2025, the capital club has to tackle the situation this summer and not let it linger into the 2023-24 season,

With just one year left on his contract and persistent links to Real Madrid, the urgency to address the matter became apparent. Al-Khelaifi understood the gravity of the situation and emphasized the need for a swift resolution.

The French media outlet notes that in his conversation with Mbappe’s mother, Al-Khelaifi expressed the club’s desire to keep the young forward. Recognizing the France international’s immense talent and potential, PSG was willing to build its future project around him.

However, the club president also acknowledged the possibility of Mbappe leaving the club. In such a scenario, PSG would require time to adapt and modify its strategy.

Losing a player of Mbappé’s caliber would necessitate adjustments in their squad composition, style of play, and overall team dynamics. Evidently, his departure would leave a significant void within the team structure.

Al-Khelaifi’s urgency to resolve the situation promptly stemmed from the understanding that time was of the essence. With just one year remaining on the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner’s contract, PSG faced the risk of losing Mbappé on a free transfer if a new deal couldn’t be agreed upon.

This scenario would be highly undesirable for the club, as it would mean losing one of their star players without receiving any financial compensation.

  1. This transfer saga of Mbappe is dragging for too long without knowing whether the media is at some length adding their own concoction by mentioning other teams to be registering him under their own name.
I don’t know why this can’t get the straight leading to what will end-up being accomplished.

  2. They were willing to go through this exact same dance in 2021 when they rejected 200M for him when he had a year left and could leave on a free transfer. This is the exact same scenario. What changed?
