Paris Saint-Germain sporting advisor Luis Campos will be attempting to revamp the forward position this summer. Lionel Messi’s contract expires on June 30 and Neymar Jr. has an uncertain future.
As a result, one name in the rumor mill linked to PSG is Real Madrid’s Marco Asensio. Transfer window specialist Fabrizio Romano reported on Thursday that the 27-year-old’s agent, Jorge Mendes, is pushing his client toward Paris.
Asensio, who will leave Los Blancos on June 30 when his contract expires, is also drawing the attention of Aston Villa.
No changes on Marco Asensio plans. He will leave Real Madrid, decision made last week — PSG are pushing with his agent Jorge Mendes, that’s why there’s no green light to Aston Villa proposal yet. 🇪🇸 #transfers https://t.co/7tbLck8Na2

However, Mendes’ plans for Asensio explain that’s why there’s no green light to Aston Villa’s proposal yet.
Messi, despite his age, has shown that he can produce at a high level regardless of how many view this 2022-23 season for the Argentine.
PSG will have to replace the Argentine’s production and perhaps Campos might view Asensio as a piece, especially since he’d arrive as a free agent.
Update: It appears as though Asensio’s agent might have received what he wanted. The Athletic’s David Ornstein reported that Asensio will join PSG and sign a contract until June 2027.

Campos has begun his summer transfer window by signing two soon-to-be free agents. It should only be the beginning for the club chief as he attempts to revamp the squad.
