The Kylian Mbappé saga kicked off this week when reports surfaced and later confirmed by the 24-year-old that he’s not triggering the option in his contract to extend his deal to 2025.
As a result, he will become a free agent next summer. Furthermore, PSG is reportedly open to selling the player; all eyes are on Real Madrid and whether they’ll make a bid for Mbappé.
La Liga president Javier Tebas hopes that Los Blancos do indeed bring the French star to the Spanish league as it will give them that marquee star they lack after the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.
“I hope he can come,” Tebas said on Thursday (h/t SPORT). “If you ask me, as a fan, I think Mbappé will leave PSG this season because in UEFA there is more economic control and PSG have a very high wage bill.”

Real Madrid has reportedly begun talks with the capital club. PSG has put an ultimatum for the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner; either he signs a new contract and is part of this new project, or they sell him to begin their rebuild with Lionel Messi gone and Neymar Jr.’s future uncertain.
