Vitinha Reacts to PSG Winning 11th Ligue 1 Title in Club History

Paris Saint-Germain clinched their 11th Ligue 1 title in club history after the 1-1 draw against Strasbourg at the Stade de la Meinau. There was plenty of celebration in the dressing room over this historic accomplishment.

After the match, PSG midfielder Vitinha spoke with reporters and noted what winning the league means to the team. The 23-year-old provided a positive response despite the challenging 2022-23 season.

“Paris is a fine champion,” Vitinha told reporters (h/t Paris Fans). “We deserved to win the championship; we did everything for it, we never doubted. We’ve been in the lead since day one; that’s saying something. We would always like to be champions as soon as possible, but being champions one day from the end suits me very well.”

PSG has one more Ligue 1 contest against Clermont Foot on Saturday at the Parc des Princes, where they’ll be able to lift the league trophy. As a result, the squad will likely be eager to end the season on a positive note.

While some people might scoff at PSG winning Ligue 1, it should be a title that the team has to appreciate considering there have been two years during the Qatar Sports Investment era where the club didn’t win.

The French giants can later focus on what needs to be done to fix the squad and turn them into a UEFA Champions League contender.
