Sergio Ramos Stays? PSG’s Bold Attempt to Keep Veteran Defender – Report

Paris Saint-Germain could be keeping Sergio Ramos for a little longer. The veteran defender’s contract with the French giants expires on June 30, so he has an uncertain future.

However, MARCA’s Jose Felix Diaz reported on Thursday that the capital club had offered a one-year contract extension to keep his veteran presence in their squad for the 2023-24 season.

Ramos must take a pay cut to sign an extension if he wants to remain in Paris. Still, the Ligue 1 side is willing to compromise by offering him a contract with variables based on playing time, performance and team wins.

PSG could be adding two central defenders this summer. Inter Milan center-back Milan Škriniar will arrive as a free agent once his contract with the Serie A side expires on June 30.

Furthermore, the French club has its eyes on Bayern Munich defender Lucas Hernandez. If Ramos is content with being a veteran presence and a rotational player, then it’s likely the former Real Madrid captain can remain with PSG for another season.
