PSG Reacts to Protesting, Will Protect Messi, Neymar From Supporters – Report

On Wednesday, the Collectif Ultra Paris protested in front of Paris Saint-Germain’s headquarters. The ultras aren’t happy with the capital club’s direction and made their voices heard.

However, the protesting went too far as a group went to where Neymar Jr. lives and chanted for the 31-year-old to leave this summer. PSG condemns these actions and ensures the Brazilian and other players feel safe.

AFP reported on Thursday (h/t RMC Sport), citing sources, that security has been reinforced in front of the Camp des Loges, the PSG training center, and in front of the home of the players targeted on Wednesday by insults from supporters, Neymar, Lionel Messi and Marco Verratti.

The ultras can protest at the stadium or headquarters as long as nothing illegal occurs. Nonetheless, going to a player’s house is a different situation and it’s good that PSG is reacting to ensure their players are safe.

PSG, for now, is only condemning these actions, but the reporting notes that the protestors want to repeat what they did, so if this becomes a trend, then the capital club might need to do more than just beef up security and send out a strongly worded statement.
