Barcelona Not Favored? Argentine Media Reveals Odds of Likely Messi Landing Spot

The future of Lionel Messi is uncertain as his contract with Paris Saint-Germain expires on June 30. But, while many won’t know where the Argentine will play for the 2023-24 season, the odds have been revealed.

Argentine media outlet Diario Olé revealed the odds of where Messi will sign this summer once he becomes a free agent. According to these odds from Sportium, the favorite has Saudi Arabia side Al-Hilal as the likely landing spot for Messi at 1.50.

Behind Al-Hilal is FC Barcelona at 2.40, which is the favorite European option, per the odds provided. The Spanish club will do everything in its power for Messi to return to Camp Nou, but a financial offer is likely something they won’t compete with Al-Hilal.

Coming in the third likely destination for Messi this summer is Inter Miami. The MLS side has an 8 regarding the odds of having the 2022 FIFA World Cup winner in their squad to wrap up the 2023 season.

Meanwhile, PSG and even Manchester City come behind the three probable landing spots for Messi. Finally, the long shot is a return to Argentina with Newell’s Old Boys.
