Spanish journalist Pedro Morata reported on Sunday that neither Messi nor his agents are clear about his return to the Catalan side. Furthermore, the information notes that the signing is complicated due to Barcelona’s financial situation.

Messi’s future remains uncertain as his contract with Paris Saint-Germain expires in June. The La Liga side wants a deal to happen, but their finances might prevent it. Meanwhile, talks with PSG have reportedly stalled.
As for other options, MLS is a non-European alternative for the 2022 FIFA World Cup winner; nonetheless, if the veteran goal-scorer wants to win another UEFA Champions League trophy, he might put his plans to cross the pond to the United States on hold.
