Lionel Messi had two memorable moments at the 2022 FIFA World Cup. The first is obviously winning the trophy that had long eluded him in his football career. However, the second was his now famous quote, “bobo.”
After Argentine defeated the Netherlands in the quarterfinals, which saw the contest go to penalty kicks, Messi had a postgame interaction with Manchester United striker Wout Weghorst.
The Argentine uttered the phrase” “Que miras, bobo? Anda para allá!”,(“What are you looking at, idiot? Go over there!”), which became viral on social media and eventually turned into a meme.

Nonetheless, new video footage shows Weghorst staring at Messi with a menacing look that led the Paris Saint-Germain star to respond. The 35-year-old recently admitted that he regrets the interaction, but it’s understandable since it was off the heels of a highly contested match.
Messi won the World Cup but also gave the world a meme that will live on forever.
